TINKER TALE TAKE 2
In this video I discuss my Deep Play Group's goals, two tech tools that I have learned, a classroom strategy that I am excited to try, and finally the books that my group has chosen.
Tinker Tale Take Two: Google On Air Hang Out.
Our Deep play group read and discussed the book Countdown: Six Kids Vie for Glory at the World's Toughest Math Competition. This book discusses the 6 member U.S. team competing in the 2001 World Olympiad. This book also discusses Math education in the U.S. as well as other issues. Is talent innate? Is success due to nature or nurture? Reflection on this book I want to be not only a better teacher but a better parent.

My Responsibilities
My roles in the PD are; overview of the book, "Countdown", and one of the PBL activities. Reviewing the book we read helps our PD attendees have a rationale for why Problem Solving is important in their classrooms. The book gives factual data that shows the needs for PBL.
The activity allows PD attendees the opportunity to engage in a PBL activity and allows them to discuss how they solved the problem of saving Fred. They will be encouraged to discuss how this type of activity could be used in their classrooms.
I created a Smore account and organized the newsletter with the approval of my group. During the entire process I aided in keeping my group on task.
